BUTTERWORTH CAMPUS LIBRARY RESEARCH SEMINAR

WSU Butterworth Library held a 2 day research seminar on the 29th and 30th of August 2018.

 

This programme was made in collaboration with CLTD under the theme “Promoting E-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning”.

 
Library is assisting researchers at the university in becoming more creative and productive by inviting research supervisors to do the presentations on how to write research proposals.

 
Mr Chulumanco Pakade who is an Information Librarian and the organiser of the programme said the library started this event called Library Research Day in 2017 and it is an annual event that exposes BTech students to the library E-Resource that is our database and referencing techniques.

 
“I noticed that our students are struggling in their proposal writing hence decided to introduce this programme,” he added.

 
Siphosethu Gobo a B.Tech student in Public Management said this seminar was very informative and helpful to him and other students and it would have had a huge impact if it was conducted at the beginning of the year.

 
He further added that Professor Diko gave a lecture and reminded the researchers to always be mindful of how they carry out research from its initial stage until article publication.
