IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU APPLY       

All International students must follow the following procedure when applying for admission at Walter Sisulu University:

  • Use the WSU online application platform.
  • WSU accepts online applications only.
  • It is a free service with no fee payment required.

To save money and time, make sure you have the following information ready:

You need to first apply to the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and Universities South Africa (Usaf) for evaluation of school results or another degree/diploma certificates.

When you receive the results from Usaf, you may commence with the application process and upload the transcript in English plus certified copies of your certificates, diplomas, degrees previously obtained, a certified copy of your passport, marriage or divorce decree(s) and identity document for a parent or legal guardian if less than 21 years.

5. All documents must be saved as soft copies for uploading.

It is very important to determine first what you want to study before you start the online application process.

Make sure you meet the admission minimum requirements for the choices you are making.

The endorsement for the certificate and the achievement levels for the specific subjects stated as a requirement must be met.

STUDY VISA

How to Apply for a Study Visa

The applicant must be accepted by the University on academic grounds before you may apply for a study visa. For this, the applicant needs an official letter, confirming provisional acceptance or acceptance letter at that learning institution and the duration of the course.

Documents Required for a Study Visa

If you are a foreign student and wish to study in South Africa, you can apply for a study visa by completing Form BI-1738.

Study visas must be applied for at the VFS Centres near the educational institution where you will study or at the nearest South African embassy, mission or consulate abroad.

Study visas for studies at a learning institution shall be issued other than a school shall be issued for the duration of the course registered for.
