The Master of Science in Mathematics enables learners to develop a keen interest in the mathematical sciences by offering them a chance to study with a certain level of independence, a chosen topic in mathematics. The primary purpose of this qualification is to develop the intellectual, practical, and analytical skills of the learner to enable them to independently read, analyse, formulate, interpret, understand, communicate and apply mathematics. The qualification prepares learners to evaluate existing mathematics regarding quality and applicability to other fields. |
Bachelor of Science Honour’s degree or an NQF Level 8 qualification in a cognate discipline with achievement not less than 60% for the qualification. |
