Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering  W60017

NQF Level 6 qualification with 360 credits in a cognate discipline with an achievement of not less than 60% (average) in the level III courses:

Any applicant who has not achieved the required 60% but has acquired two years of relevant experience will have her/his application reviewed by a panel to determine whether she/he can be admitted or not.

The qualification equips graduates with the necessary knowledge, understanding, abilities and skills required for further learning towards becoming competent practicing Civil Engineering Technologists.

Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering W60018

NQF Level 6 qualification with 360 credits in a cognate discipline with an achievement of not less than 60% (average) for the programme.

Any applicant who has not achieved the required 60% but has acquired two years of relevant experience will have her/his application reviewed by a panel to determine whether she/he can be admitted or not.

The purpose of the Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering is to train technologists who will meet the criteria for registration as Candidate Technologists set by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), and who will display competence as part of the engineering team in the execution of technical tasks under remote supervision by using and applying their knowledge in independent judgment in the identification and solution of broadly defined Electrical engineering problems.

Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering W60019

NQF Level 6 qualification with 360 credits in a cognate discipline with an achievement of not less than 60% (average) for the programme with a pass in the following subjects:

1.     Applied Strength of Materials III

2.     Steam Plant III

3.     Hydraulic Machines III

4.     Mathematics III

Any applicant who has not achieved the required 60% but has acquired two years of relevant experience will have her/his application reviewed by a panel to determine whether she/he can be admitted or not.

The purpose of this qualification is to train mechanical engineering technicians who will meet the criteria for registration as Candidate Engineering Technicians by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), and who will display competence as part of the engineering team in the execution of technical tasks under remote supervision by using and applying their knowledge in independent judgement in the identification and solution of well-defined Mechanical Engineering problems.

Advanced Diploma in Information and Communication Technology in Applications Development W60020 

NQF Level 6 qualification with 360 credits in Information and Communication Technology majoring in Applications Development or in a cognate discipline with an achievement of not less than 60% for the majors.  

Any applicant who has not achieved the required 60% but has acquired two years of relevant experience may be considered for admission to this qualification. 

The purpose of this qualification is to provide a professional and vocational qualification for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, and to enable a graduate (diplomate) to apply advanced design, development, implementation and maintenance strategies and techniques in the development of software products and systems to meet specified industry needs, and effectively manage and administer them in a reliable and cost-effective manner. 

Advanced Diploma in Information and Communication Technology in Communication Networks W60021 

NQF Level 6 qualification with 360 credits in Information and Communication Technology majoring in Communication Networks or in a cognate discipline with an achievement of not less than 60% for the majors. 

Any applicant who has not achieved the required 60% but has acquired two years of relevant experience may be considered for admission to this qualification. 

The purpose of this qualification is to provide a professional and vocational qualification for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, and to enable a graduate (diplomate) to apply advanced design, development, implementation and maintenance strategies and techniques in the development and deployment of communication network systems, by integrating current network topologies and protocols to create an appropriate and adequate environment of communication and information sharing environment to meet specified industry needs and effectively manage and administer them in a reliable and cost effective manner.
