MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a bachelor's endorsement and achievement in the subjects as follows:

• English Home Language or First Additional Language at Level 4 (50–59%)
• Any other African Language at Level 4 (50–59%)
• History at Level 4 (50–59%)
• Music, Dance Studies, Dramatic Arts, or Visual Arts at Level 4 (50–59%)
• Any other three additional subjects totalling 8 points

Admission Point Score (APS): 24

Note: Applicants without Music at Matric level will be required to complete a Music Aptitude Test.


PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The primary purpose of the Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching (SP & FET) is to provide a well-rounded education that equips graduates with the required subject content knowledge base, educational theory, and methodology. The programme enables graduates to demonstrate competence and responsibility as academically and professionally qualified beginner teachers.

Graduates are prepared to teach Creative Arts and History in the Senior Phase and Further Education and Training bands while contributing meaningfully to curriculum development, learner support, and educational transformation.
