The Department operates from two delivery sites, namely, Potsdam and College Street. In Potsdam, the Department offers a Diploma in Analytical Chemistry and Advanced Diploma in Chemistry programmes. In College Street, the Department offers a Diploma in Consumer Science in Food and Nutrition.

The Department of Applied Sciences offers diploma programmes in Analytical Chemistry that is designed to equip graduate students with skills that directly respond to the human resource needs of many industries such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, food, mining, petrochemicals, automotive, environmental, wastewater management, pollution control, waste disposal & recycling, agriculture, research, and the health sector. The diploma in analytical chemistry programme provides graduates with a solid understanding of the protocols common to analytical laboratories, including sampling and sample preparation, quality assurance, and quality control, within its curriculum, while stressing effective and relevant report writing and communication skills. The diploma in analytical chemistry programs provide students with knowledge and understanding of analytical theories, methodologies, and practices, as well as the ability to formulate, undertake, and resolve more complex theoretical and practice-related problems and tasks through the selection and application of appropriate methods and techniques.
