With a career that bridges both industry and academia, Dr. Olutoyin Olaitan brings a wealth of practical and scholarly experience to her work. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at Walter Sisulu University, a position she has held since 2019. Her transition into a full-time academic career was preceded by key roles that solidified her expertise. She served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Fort Hare and as a Contract Lecturer for MBA and postgraduate programs at the Management Institute of South Africa (MANCOSA). Previously, she gained foundational experience in the industry, notably at Business Connexion Ltd Pty, where she was part of the team on a Performance Information Audit Project for a government Department in the Eastern Cape. Her professional background also includes roles as a Customer Services Director and Manager. This diverse history provides Dr. Olaitan with a unique and grounded perspective that enriches her teaching and research in Information Systems.

Undergone a 4 year apprenticeship at Nestle; Obtained a BSc(Applied Mathematics & Physics) and BSc(Hons)(Applied Mathematics) degrees. Lectured Mathematics N4 and Mechanics N4 at East London Technical College( now BCC). Lectured Mathematics at Border Technikon and now lecturing Engineering Mathematics at WSU at the Diploma and Advanced Diploma level.

Mr. Moeketsi MofokaLecturer
Miss Thembakazi Kangapi is a Lecturer in the Department of Applied Informatics and Mathematical Sciences at Walter Sisulu University. She has over 15 years of teaching experience in Information and Communication Technology, Information Systems, and End User Computing. Her research interests focus on learning analytics, e-learning, and cybersecurity, with a particular emphasis on how digital innovations can enhance student engagement and academic performance. She is passionate about integrating technology into teaching and learning to promote digital transformation within higher education.

Thembakazi KangapiLecturer
Mrs. Abraham joined WSU as a lecturer for SFYP in FSET in 2006. She joined the Department of Mathematics in the same faculty in 2007. She served on the LIS and Budget Allocation committees. She served as the ECP co-ordinator in the school, SoMCS. She was the faculty chair for the QAC in 2014. In 2021, Mrs. Abraham joined the Department of AIMS in the Faculty of Engineering (presently, FEBEIT). She is serving on the QA Committee in the faculty. | |
