Overview
The department currently admits students into one programme, viz, BEd (SP and FET Teaching) specialising in the school subjects, namely, Accounting (FET), Business Studies (FET), Economics (FET), Consumer Studies (FET), Hospitality Studies(FET), Tourism(FET) and Economic and Management Sciences (SP).
The department currently admits students into one programme, viz, BEd (SP and FET Teaching) specialising in the school subjects, namely, Accounting (FET), Business Studies (FET), Economics (FET), Consumer Studies (FET), Hospitality Studies(FET), Tourism(FET) and Economic and Management Sciences (SP). However, the department migrated to the new program, where students who qualified were on the old program.

A National Senior Certificate (NSC), with bachelor’s degree endorsement with at least 50% in English, 30% in Mathematics or 50% in Mathematical Literacy and 50% in ANY TWO of the following subjects to be chosen as Majors:
• Accounting,
• Business Studies,
• Consumer Studies,
• Economics,
• Hospitality Studies
• Tourism.
A pass in the remaining two or three subjects is also necessary.
AND
The minimum Admission Point Score (APS) required is 28.
