MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a bachelor's endorsement and achievement in the subjects as follows:
• Mathematics at Level 2 or Mathematical Literacy at Level 4
• English First Additional Language (FAL) at Level 4
• isiXhosa Home Language (HL) at Level 4
• Life Orientation at Level 5
• Any other two additional subjects totalling 8 points
Admission Point Score (APS): 24
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
This is an initial professional teacher qualification with specialisation linked to Grades R–3. The programme provides specific depth and specialised knowledge, practical skills through research, and workplace experience to enable successful students to enter the teaching profession well-grounded.
Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, values, and competencies required to facilitate learning and development in the Foundation Phase while responding effectively to the diverse educational needs of young learners.
