Research and Academic Experience: I have 19 years of experience as an academic.
Research Area: My research areas mainly include entrepreneurship, job satisfaction, virtualisation of organisations, Human Resource functions, Work Integrated learning, Office Management and Technology and leadership styles. Number of Published papers: I have published 50 papers in several repute journals.
Dr Mefi has a PhD and a master’s in quality and Operation Management from the University of Johannesburg. She obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDiP) from Witwatersrand She has served as a blind reviewer for accredited journals and external and internal examiner of master’s dissertation. She is also a supervisor for both Masters and honours students. she has assessed master’s dissertations.
Dr Mefi is a chair of short learning Programmes in the faculty of Management and Public Administration Sciences. She is also a chair of the community engagement with the Mnquma Municipality.
She has worked as programme coordinator, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Head of the department in my field. My speciality is in Office Management and Operations Management. Dr Nteboheng Patricia Mefi Career Overview
Originally from the rural Chafutweni under the location of Raladiya in Willow Vale, Eastern Cape, I embody a profound commitment to continuous learning and public service. My journey is marked by a dedication to education that has significantly shaped her professional trajectory.
I have an impressive academic foundation that was meticulously laid at Walter Sisulu University. I began by earning a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology, providing me with essential administrative acumen. This was followed by a BTech in Public Management, broadening my understanding of governance and organizational principles. Demonstrating my drive for deeper knowledge, I then achieved an Honours in Public Administration.
Currently, I am further advancing my expertise by pursuing my master’s in public administration at Walter Sisulu University. This ongoing academic pursuit reflects my unwavering dedication to the field and my desire to contribute meaningfully to public service.
And my research interests are in Investigating the Effectiveness of Expanded Public Works Program (EPWP) on Youth Employability at Mnquma Local Municipality .
Professionally, I serve as a Departmental Administrator under the faculty of Management and Public Administration Sciences (FMPAS) within the Department of Administration and Information Management (AIM) at Walter Sisulu University. Ms Nasiphi Nolatsho Career Overview
Professor Asoba is an Associate Professor. He has a PhD in Quality and Operation Management from the University of Johannesburg. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDiP) from Witwatersrand University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Management in Entrepreneurship (cum laude) graduate from Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He is currently a Lecturer, lecturing Research methodology, Project Management, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration subjects at iYunivesithi Walter Sisulu, Butterworth Campus. He also serves on the Walter Sisulu Faculties of Management Science, Commerce and Administration and Management and Public Administration’s Research Committees. He serves as a blind reviewer for accredited journals and external and internal examiner of Masters's and PhD’s theses. His research includes office Management and Technology, Entrepreneurship, Public Administration, Project Management, Business incubation, Human Resources, Quality and Operation Management, and Business Management. He has published 78 papers in reputed journals. In 2020, Prof Asoba received an award (Research and Innovation Certificate of Recognition) of the most Productive Researcher at iYunivesithi Walter Sisulu.

Associate Professor Samson Nambei Asoba Career Overview
Joined the Department on 8th April 2003 as a lecturer and taught Information Administration 1 and 2 and Administrative Management. I later taught Business Administration, Levels 1,2 and 3, and taught Strategic Management for Advanced Diploma Public Management.
I have been involved in Work Integrated Learning and attended more than one conference for Work Integrated Learning, where various Work Integrated Learning practitioners from various institutions share their experiences and best practices. My involvement included finding placement for students, liaising with employers and visiting students on Work Integrated Learning, which I am currently still doing. I have for several years coordinated student activities in the Department, which included organizing educational tours. I have also been a member of the Departmental Teaching and Learning Committee, and I am also a coordinator of Student Support Committee.
My qualifications include a Master of Public Administration (Local Government Turnaround Strategy: A South African Perspective), a BTech in Post School Education, a National Higher Diploma in Education: Commerce, a National Diploma in Office Administration. I am also a qualified Assessor and Moderation and have been involved in the Programme Development for the Department. I am an Academic Development Coordinator for the Departmental Extended Curriculum Programme.

Mr Raymond Mgcineni Mcunukelwa Mr Mxolisi Ntoyakheholds a Master’s degree in Administration and Information Management from Durban University of Technology (DUT), as well as BTech qualifications in Office Management and Technology and Management from Walter Sisulu University (WSU), and a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology from the former Border Technikon.
He began his research journey in 2015 while pursuing his master’s degree at DUT and has since collaborated on international research publications. His research interests include service quality in higher education institutions, student experiences, entrepreneurship and small businesses.
His academic career at WSU began in 2018 as a part-time lecturer in Business Administration. He was appointed as a full-time lecturer in 2019 and has taught Business Administration I and II, Information Administration 1B (ECP), and Life Skills Management 1A (ECP).
Prior to entering academia, he worked in university administration from 2001 to 2018, serving in various roles including Receptionist, Students’ Enquiries, Admissions, Senior Word Processing Officer in the Examinations Section, Departmental Secretary and Academic Secretary.
His research includes An Investigation of Students’ Experience of Service Quality Delivered by Administrative Staff at One Site of a South African Comprehensive University and Developing Innovative Support Structures in Higher Education Institutions: A Student Perspective.
He serves on the Community Engagement and Partnership Committee and the Generic Masters Faculty Task Team. He is currently preparing to pursue a PhD in Business Administration, with a particular interest in small businesses operating in the Eastern Cape.

Mr Mxolisi NtoyakheMs Mandisa Mpengesi started to work at iYunivesithi Walter Sisuluas an administrator for the department of accounting, organizing meetings for the department, making bookings for the Head of department travelling and staff members, assisting in capturing of marks for all the programmes offered in the department.
She has 20 years of industry experience, including working as a computer technician for the department concurrently lecturing computer related modules. As a computer technician, she also facilitates trainings for a specialized application software for the faculty (SAGE).
She also holds several certifications on the side of computer skills (ITIL, SAGE, ITSA, ERP-SAP-PROCUMENT). During 2024, she was employed permanently as a lecturer under the department of Administration and Information Management specializing in Financial Accounting and Human Resource. Her responsibility was also extended to lecturer Advanced Diploma Programme, offering Financial Management and Financial Accounting Aspects.
She is also involved in Community Engagement, where the department is Training Mnquma Municipality Employees in Computer Skills. Mpengesi is a member of Library Information Systems (LIS), liaising with Librarians to get knowledge of all the training available to assist staff in their studies, research tools, and software available and attending departmental and university committees to craft better academic standards and programs.

Ms Mandisa Mpengesi Mr Jabulani Samuel Mhlanga holds a Master of Management Sciences in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on hybrid work environments and administrative support personnel in South African higher education.
His research interests include workplace environments, employee performance, administrative support, and organisational practices in higher education. His research outputs include studies on administrative employees’ perceptions of physical workplace comfort, the provision of workplace resources to administrative support staff, and the relationship between physical environment comfort and employee performance.
Mr Mhlanga contributes to several departmental and faculty committees, representing the department on the Short Learning Programme, Quality Assurance and Student Support committees.
His teaching areas include Information Administration, Information Systems, End-User Computing, Computer Literacy, Administrative Management and Business Administration.
His current PhD research focuses on Higher Education Administrative Personnel’s Perspectives on Hybrid Work Environment Support: Development of a Hybrid Work Model in a South African University.

Mr. Jabulani Samuel MhlangaMr Sinokholo Victor Mtiki is a lecturer in Administration and Information Management at Walter Sisulu University, with experience in higher education teaching, curriculum development and digital learning. His academic interests include Information Administration, curriculum development, e-learning and assessment and evaluation.
He holds a Master of Management Sciences in Administration and Information Management from Durban University of Technology (DUT), a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education from Rhodes University, and a BTech and National Diploma in Office Management and Technology. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Business and Information Management at DUT.
He joined iYunivesithi Walter Sisulu in 2020 and teaches undergraduate and Advanced Diploma modules in Office Management and Technology, Management and Human Resource Management. He has also contributed to teaching and learning initiatives, including serving as Chair of the Teaching and Learning Departmental Committee.
Prior to joining Walter Sisulu University, he served as a Teaching Assistant at Mangosuthu University of Technology, supporting course delivery, tutorials, laboratory sessions and student assessment.

Mr Sinokholo Victor Mtiki Mr Mbeko Jacobs provides technical and instructional support to faculty and students in the use of computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment. His responsibilities include supporting computer laboratories, responding to technical queries, troubleshooting and resolving recurring issues, and assisting students with the effective use of computer applications.
He is also involved in presenting software packages and applications, developing laboratory templates and instructional materials, and maintaining records related to student computer-based support. His work includes managing laboratory software and hardware, testing equipment and materials, and ensuring the secure and authorised use of institutional equipment.
His key areas of expertise include computer support, troubleshooting and maintenance, data collection and documentation, problem-solving, communication, training and teaching, equipment inspection, and technical consultation.

Mr. Mbeko JacobsSesethu Ngcawe is a Lab Technician at Walter Sisulu University, where she provides technical support to students and staff and ensures the effective operation and maintenance of computer laboratories.
She began her career as an intern in the ICT Department, gaining valuable technical experience that laid the foundation for her current role. Her responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring that computers and related systems operate efficiently.
She also serves as the departmental Health and Wellness Committee Coordinator, contributing to initiatives that promote staff wellbeing.
She holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis from MANCOSA and a Diploma in Information Technology from Walter Sisulu University. She completed her secondary education at Nyanga Senior Secondary School.
