In March 2026, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences hosted LeBoHA for a two-day benchmarking visit. The engagement culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on 9 March 2026. LeBoHA is preparing to establish Lesotho’s first medical school, scheduled to open in July 2027.

In April 2025, Walter Sisulu signed a Memorandum of Understanding with OsloMet. Through the partnership, and in collaboration with Stellenbosch University, the three institutions secured funding for staff and student exchange programmes, research collaboration and academic cooperation. In 2025, the partnership launched the exchange programmes and introduced a new COIL programme in Nursing.
